The Machu Picchu full day tour has spectacular scenery, heavenly views above the clouds and unique cultural attractions. There is something around every corner that will literally take you by surprise.
Your day starts early with a 6:00 am pick up from your hotel after which we will travel to our first stop, the historic town of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley. We should arrive around 7:30 am and from here we will take the train to Aguas Calientes with many spectacular views along the way. We wil pass through lush fields and colorful villages in the foothills of the Andes. We will also travel alongside the Urubamba River which runs through the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Our staff will be waiting for you at the train station in Aguas Calientes where you will arrive at approximately 9:15 a.m. and together we will take the 25-minute bus shuttle up a switchback road to Machu Picchu. Once there, your guide will take you for a three-hour tour of the site where you will discover the many wonders of Machu Picchu such as the main plaza, the circular tower, the sacred solar clock, the royal quarters, the temple of the three windows and the Royal Inca cemeteries. After the tour you will have time to take pictures and further explore this sacred sanctuary on your own. So, get your camera ready and enjoy your visit of one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World! After our visit of the site we will take the shuttle back down to Aguas Calientes where you will have free time to have lunch, visit the small market, the museum or the Aguas Calientes Hot Springs. You can have lunch in the town or treat yourself to something fancier at the Sanctuary Lodge.
Finally, around 6:00 p.m. you will travel by train from Aguas Calientes back to Ollantaytambo and then by bus back to Cusco where you will be transferred back to your hotel around 10:30 p.m.
